FRANCIS WILLARD “BILL” MARTIN

Bill Martin 91, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Azalealand Nursing Home.
Mr. Martin was a native of Liberty County and a longtime resident of Savannah. He was a member of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. Mr. Martin retired from Union Camp in 1976 as a Wood yard superintendent after 42 years of service. Upon retirement, he was cashier at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House, his family’s business. He was a member of Solomons Lodge #1 F&AM for over 60 years and a member of the Rose Society of Savannah.

Surviving are, his wife of 61 years, Margie W. Martin of Savannah, his daughter and son-in-law, Marcia M. and Ronnie Thompson of Savannah, grandson and wife, Ryan Wesley and Lindsey Thompson of Savannah, granddaughter and husband, Emily Wilkes and Corey Jones of Savannah, a great granddaughter, Julianna Wilkes Jones of Savannah and his sister, Grace Stevens of Hinesville, Georgia.

Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2006 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel. Services will be officiated by Reverend Craig Wilkes

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
